Elizabeth Brubaker is the executive director of Environment Probe. The organization champions the use of property rights, markets, and decentralized decision making to empower individuals and communities to protect the environment. Brubaker is the author of three books, including Property Rights in the Defence of Nature and Greener Pastures: Decentralizing the Regulation of Agricultural Pollution. In addition, she has contributed chapters to 13 books published in five countries. She has written frequently in the popular press and has lectured on property rights in Canada, the United States, France, Australia, and China. Between 2008 and 2011, Brubaker was a member of the National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy, an independent federal agency that provides advice to the government and the public on the integration of environmental conservation and economic development.
