Borys M. Kowalsky

Borys M. Kowalsky, born and raised in Toronto, now resides with his spouse, Petrusia, in Tiny Township, Ontario. He has a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Toronto and an M.A. in philosophy from McMaster University. A former educator at the secondary (Upper Canada College, Appleby College, Havergal College) and post-secondary (Georgian College of Applied Arts and Technology) levels, Kowalsky currently devotes most of his time to research, writing and lecturing or giving papers at academic conferences on political philosophy, history and philosophy of art and music, and education, as well as on current political issues such as the war in Ukraine and critical race theory. A study group he leads recently completed a study of the late Sir Roger Scruton’s Understanding Music: Philosophy and Interpretation, which involved listening to passages by great composers and discussing Scruton’s masterful philosophical and musicological analyses of those works.
