Gwyn Morgan devoted three decades to building what became Canada’s largest energy-producing company, EnCana Corporation. An engineer by training who was raised on a farm in Alberta, Morgan has also served as a director of five global corporations, including London based HSBC, the world’s largest international bank. He has been recognized as Canada’s Outstanding CEO of the YearTM and also as Canada’s Most Respected CEO. In 2011 the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, announced Morgan’s appointment as a Member of the Order of Canada. Morgan is retired and lives in Victoria, B.C. with his wife, and continues to write regularly on public issues with a primary focus on energy and climate policies.
