The World Health Organization (WHO) has been under constant fire for its controversial approach to the drafting of its “Trans and Gender Diverse People” treatment guidelines, which began in 2023. As Joseph Figliolia reports in City Journal, while WHO has since walked back some of its earlier mistakes, it remains a flawed process given the lack of credible scientific evidence for “affirming care”.

Noting in The European Conservative that more such betrayals are sure to follow, Sabine Beppler-Spahl warns this will only encourage the continued rise of the “extreme right” AfD, which has gained the support of nearly 40 percent of working-class Germans.

The Coming U.S. Reset?

In The New Criterion, Victor Davis Hanson compares the forces behind the first and second elections of Donald Trump and finds them categorically different. The first election aimed to halt America’s perceived leftward drift and overall deterioration; the second intends to roll it back entirely, leading Hanson to describe the second Trump term as a counter-revolution. But, warns Hanson, the challenges this time are also much more formidable.

The Paper-Pushers Who (Barely) Control America’s Skies

Fans of the 1999 movie Pushing Tin will recall frenetic scenes of air traffic controllers working to keep airliners from colliding in crowded skies. The current reality, writes John Tierney in City Journal, is far worse. Control tasks at U.S. airports today are still exchanged using paper “flight strips”. In contrast to this “international disgrace”, writes Tierney, European and even Canadian control towers have gone nearly all-digital.
