Brian Giesbrecht is a retired Manitoba Provincial Court Judge, appointed in 1976, who later served as an Associate Chief Judge as well as Acting Chief Judge and retired in 2007. He has written since then for various publications and daily newspapers, as well as co-authoring From Truth Comes Reconciliation, a book about Canada’s residential school system. He is a senior fellow with the Frontier Centre for Public Policy and is currently engaged with a group of scholars investigating claims about missing Indigenous children. Brian lives with his wife, Brenda Buckley, and their animals on a rural property in southwestern Manitoba.
