Jonathan Barazzutti is an MA Economics student at the University of Toronto. He was the winner of the second annual Patricia Trottier and Gwyn Morgan Student Essay Contest. Barazzutti has authored articles for multiple publications, including City Journal and Without Diminishment, and regularly writes on his own Substack. He has also done consulting work for the Macdonald-Laurier Institute, DeepAudit, and Maine Civic Action, and currently works as a research assistant.
Barazzutti’s research interests span the social sciences, with a particular focus on econometrics, metascience, and the psychology of belief. His passion lies in building alternative institutions dedicated to open inquiry and viewpoint diversity beyond the stifling political monoculture of modern academia, as well as developing a post-progressive intellectual vision.
